Texas Star Gardens in Bloom

May 26th, 2010 by Grover McMains

I cannot resist showing more of the plants in the gardens next to The Texas White House Bed & Breakfast.

Spring Blooms at the Texas Star Gardens

This is the Oakleaf Hydrangea; we have two of them, each over 5 feet tall.  The blooms are now white, but you can see a few of them have begun to turn pick which all of them will do eventually.  Then they will all turn brown while they are still blooming.  I’ve made the picture larger than I normally do, but it still doesn’t do them justice; so, if you like flowering gardens, come see us and enjoy spring in Texas!

Spring Gardening at the Texas Star Gardens

Texas Star Gardens at The Texas White House

Springtime has started in earnest at the Texas Star Gardens of The Texas White House.  Each day, more and more Native Texas plants are budding out and blooming, and many of these spring flowers are producing seedlings.  So, it’s time for our special discount offer.  Actually, this is more “free” than “discount.”  For each guest who stays at our Fort Worth bed and breakfast this spring and summer, you may dig up and take two seedling plants (supervised, of course!!) for each night you stay with us - absolutely free.  For those of you reading this on Facebook, you are entitled to receive an even more special offer; so, please call us for the details.  These seedlings can’t last forever – not because they won’t grow but because we will be forced to dig them up to keep the garden in shape.  So, if you are interested, please plan to stay with us soon.  You may want to time your stay to the type of plant you want, and we’ll certainly help you with that.

Yoga is great exercise!

The Texas White House is proud to announce that we have a yoga instructor who will come to our bed and breakfast for individual or couple sessions during your stay with us.  It is especially nice to have these exercise sessions early in the morning or after sundown in the Texas Star Gardens, surrounded by flowers and the waterfall sounds of our fountains.  We already have the winter honeysuckle in bloom and in just a few weeks, there will be more early spring flowers in the gardens.   Add to that a cool, crisp morning, and you have the perfect setting for a good yoga workout.  Advance booking is required; so, let us know the next time you’re coming to Fort Worth, and we’ll reserve you a time.
